Riverdale bus sign confusing commuters to be changed

Posted: Updated:

What is known as a pickup spot for three Mnahattan bound express bus routes in Riverdale has signage that says otherwise.

If you use the MYmta app. you'll see the express bus stop at West 259th Street and Riverdale Avenue listed. However, if you look at the sign, it seems like only drop-offs are allowed.

In addition to the local Bx7 and Bx10 lines, the BxM21, BxM2 and BxM18 buses also stop there. News 12 is told by commuters that it's supposed to be a pickup spot for the Manhattan-bound buses. The signs read drop-off only though.

Commuters told News 12 they never even realized the signs were wrong. They say to them the express bus stop is common knowledge.

For someone who doesn't know their way around, or is new to the area, it can cause some confusion.

The Department of Transportation, not the MTA, posts the sign in question. The Manhattan-bound buses will continue to make their stops there.

The NYC Department of Transportation told News 12 the sign would be fixed on Wednesday.
