1 critical after accident results in car fire on Bronx River Parkway

One person is in critical condition after an accident on the Bronx River Parkaway resulted in a car going up on flames.
 
Police say two men were travelling southbound on the Bronx River Parkaway when they lost control and struck an exit sign. Both men were taken to New York City + Health Hospitals/Jacobi.
 
Police say the second person is in stable condition.
 
Cellphone video shows the car catching fire. Investigators say it happened near the Allerton Avenue exit southbound between Gun Hill Road and Southern Boulevard just before 1:30 p.m.
 
It is unclear what caused the accident.
