‘Bring Your Dad To After-School’ celebrated across the city

The New York City Department of Youth and Community Development hosted the second annual Bring Your Dad To After-School on Tuesday.
 
The event was hosted at the NYC Montessori Charter School where grandfathers, uncles or any positive male role models were also welcome.
 
The DYCD says the goal of the event is to get father figures more involved within the programs. They say studies show that getting father figures more involved benefits the children in a variety of ways.
 
The event is an initiative that was actually inspired by Dads Take Your Child To School Day, an initiative that is celebrated in more than 700 locations across the state and beyon
