Manhattan College baseball team looks to make return to Bronx

Manhattan College's Division 1 baseball team may soon be making a move to the Bronx.
School officials from Manhattan College say they are upgrading the field at Van Cortlandt Park.
They say they are working with the City Parks Department and are in the process of finalizing permits.
The Parks Department tells News 12 it is exploring the feasibility of the project and taking all proposals into consideration.
The Jaspers have been playing in Poughkeepsie, which is over an hour away.
Officials say moving the team to the Bronx will bring in more local fans and provide an opportunity for the school to put on clinics for young players.
A three-phase project is in the works to make the Bronx field playable.
"It needs a shot in the arm--we have some repairs to do on the fencing, the dugout, the scoreboard needs to be restored," says Rob Walsh, of Manhattan College.
Officials say the number one goal is to bring the team back home.
