US Army teams up with FDNY for mass casualty simulation at Bronx hospital

Health care providers along with soldiers teamed up to prepare for the unexpected Saturday with NYC Health + Hospital Jacobi's mass casualty drill.
The FDNY, Army and hospital staff started off the simulation by evaluating “patients” in tents, then cleaning off any chemicals that may have been in bombs as part of the drill.
Next, they headed to the emergency room to receive treatment for any injuries they may have sustained.
Staff and soldiers had the chance to work with real people who volunteered to play the role of victims.
CEO Chris Mastromano says the hospital would need the community's support in a real mass casualty situation.
