The Hunts Point community will be seeing about $17 million worth of changes to their local library.

The New York Public Library will be updating elevators to make the library more accessible. It will also update lighting, bathrooms, a conference center and will add a teen space.

The library is expected to close in mid-2020 and reopen once renovations are complete in 2022.

While the library is closed for renovations, patrons can visit the Woodstock branch, which is just a 15-minute walk away.
The Hunts Point Branch will also be continuing its programming in other community spaces.
