Students at the St. Luke School welcomed a very special visitor who helped them continue their Catholic education -- Cardinal Timothy Dolan.
Every fall and spring, Dolan visits a school in the archdiocese. This year, St. Luke was the lucky pick. Students and community members celebrated Mass with the religious leader and welcomed him to Mott Haven.
Church pews filled up with students, parents and parishioners Wednesday, excited to share and celebrate the special occasion. Students commemorated the day by singing, reading scripture and getting a chance to talk to Dolan himself.
The Mass took a special message to teach the young Catholics about the "Feast of the Guardian Angels," which was celebrated Wednesday.
Dolan says he plans to continue these school visits, the next of which is scheduled for the spring.
