Volunteers clean up tree beds, plant bulbs as part of Fall Stewardship Month

Volunteers cleaned up tree beds and planted bulbs along Tinton Avenue and 156th Street Sunday as part of Fall Stewardship Month with the New York City Parks Department.
The department says it’s offering an opportunity for residents to learn about the importance of street trees and what they contribute to society.
Organizers say these types of events are focused on bringing communities together and educating others on the importance of taking care of our ecosystem.
The Parks Department will be hosting free events where people can volunteer all month long.
