Tenants protest for better treatment outside Bronx Housing Court

Tenants protested outside Bronx Housing Court Thursday calling for better treatment for those going through the system.
Tenants say long security lines and the "confusing" and "hostile" process are big factors behind the protest. They say this is due to the unfair treatment by the Office of Court Administration.
Tenant Kim Statuo says she is currently taking her landlord to court and the process is overwhelming. She says the OCA hasn't made the situation any easier.
Many of the protesters claim they have personal experiences dealing with the court system. Some say the lack of translation services and attorney-landlord harassment only complicates an already stressful situation.
Tenants say banding together is to key to equitable treatment.
