National Coming Out Day celebrated at Bronx Museum of the Arts

Friday was National Coming Out Day and a pride celebration was held at the Bronx Museum of the Arts.
Bronx photographer Alvin Baltrop had his photos on display at the museum in a gallery celebrating his life. According to the museum, Baltrop’s work captures the underground gay culture that flourished along the Hudson River.
At the museum Friday were Council Member Vanessa L. Gibson, Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr., as well as a representative from News 12’s parent company, Altice USA.
National Coming Out Day started in 1988 and falls on Oct. 11 each year.
