Driver safety at risk as lamps dangle on Macombs Dam Bridge

Posted: Updated:

The Macombs Dam Bridge, which spans the Harlem River and connects Manhattan and the Bronx, is posing a potential danger to drivers.

Two lamps were spotted hanging off their lamp posts on the Manhattan side of the bridge last week.

Sidney Flores, a public safety and quality of life advocate in the Bronx, noticed the lamps and reported the issue to 311.

Flores was told by a 911 operator that the right agency would get the complaint after 311 couldn't find the exact location in their system.

News 12 reached out to the city Department of Transportation to see if they are aware of the issue, but hasn't heard back yet.
