Police: Man bit EMT in back of ambulance

An FDNY EMT was hospitalized after being assaulted by a patient in an ambulance that was headed to Lincoln Hospital Friday night, officials say.
The incident happened at 175th Street and Jerome Avenue. Police say the EMT was caring for 32-year-old Thomas Wright in the back of the ambulance when he allegedly bit the EMT on his left shoulder.
Wright was arrested and charged with assault and harassment.
Assault against an EMT is a felony, punishable by seven years in prison.
