WAKEFIELD -

Police are searching for a driver caught on camera running over a woman on Pitman Avenue.

The graphic video released by the NYPD is the newest piece of evidence to help track a suspect connected to the hit-and-run.

The video shows a dark-colored pickup truck traveling eastbound in reverse on Pitman Avenue. The vehicle hits a pedestrian, 50-year-old Elizabeth Arce, who was crossing the street on Pitman Avenue, according to her family.

She suffered severe trauma to both her legs.

Family members say this is not the first time something like this has happened to this family. Two years ago, the victim's mother was struck on the same block by a hit-and-run driver while she was unloading supplies for hurricane victims in Puerto Rico.

Anyone with information is asked to call police.
