Students at St. Raymond's Elementary School took part in a special workshop, courtesy of Museums with Marisa.
Organizers say this kind of interactive experience can go a long way in bringing culture into the lives of the students.
"Touching actual artifacts that are 3,000 years old, bringing textbooks to life, we do about 20-minute presentation and then we come back here and explore. We are not something you get typically in your regular curriculum. It is an enrichment program and it really helps bring history home to these students," says Maria Horowitz-Jaffe, of Museums with Marisa.
The exhibit on Egyptian culture is part of the school's study of ancient civilizations.
