New Yorkers flock to polls for early voting ahead of Election Day

Election Day is around the corner, and New York residents are headed to the polls Saturday before early voting ends Nov. 3.
All registered voters have been encouraged by lawmakers to get to the polls when they have a chance. Officials say voting numbers in New York have been low in the past, which made the push for early voting even stronger.
Sen. Zellnor Myrie, who introduced the bill, is encouraging voters to get out there.
"With early voting, we're putting New York on the path from worst to first by giving people the opportunity to vote when they have the most time," she says.
The polls will reopen on Election Day Nov. 5.
