"He said I want a dad."- Store owner attacked in Longwood, left with fractured eye socket

A 67-year-old store owner was assaulted and left with a fractured eye socket in Longwood.
John Caban says the assault left him hospitalized for three days. He says it happened on Sept. 25 when four young men entered his hardware business.
Caban says he found a comment one of the men made peculiar. "I asked him, what can I help you with? He said, 'I want a dad.' I said, 'What do you mean?' He said, 'I want a father.' Then I said, 'You have to be crazy,'" said Caban.
Caban says when the young men decided to leave, that's when they started throwing items from the shelves. He says he managed to grab one of the young men as they tried to make a run for it.
As Caban confronted the young man, he says he felt a sharp kick to his shoulder. He says he blacked out after that.
Caban says he's not upset about what happened to him, but that he is more concerned about today's youth. He says there is a lack of role models in their lives.
He says in his 15 years in business nothing like this has ever happened to him.
