Police have made an arrest in connection to the violent assault of an elderly man caught on camera Thursday morning.

The 81-year-old man was standing on the sidewalk on Jerome Avenue by North Street reading a newspaper when he was attacked, authorities say.

Police have since arrested Denroy Anthony, 44. He was walked out of the 52nd Precinct Friday night in handcuffs. Anthony has been charged with two counts of assault.

In surveillance video, you can see a suspect walk up behind the man and kick him, knocking him down onto the ground.

News 12 is told the victim suffered some shoulder and wrist injuries. They say he was treated at a nearby hospital.
