StriveHigher hosts Thanksgiving event for children in Williamsbridge

Bronx children got to celebrate Thanksgiving early on Sunday at the Williamsbridge Oval Recreation Center.
Nonprofit StriveHigher hosted the event that had turkey crafts, games and story time.
Members of the organization shared two books embodying the Thanksgiving spirit. They also spoke about what it means to be thankful.
"These books are about family and being thankful," said Olga Baez, the founder of StriveHigher. "We know that not everyone celebrates Thanksgiving, so we wanted to cognizant of that, so we focused on the idea of being thankful and family because everyone can related to that."
The nonprofit also collected hats and gloves for those in need this holiday season at the event.
