The Bronx Zoo is getting into the holiday spirit by bringing back a tradition for the first time since 2007.

It has been over a decade since the Bronx Zoo put on this event. They say this year they promise it will be bigger, brighter and greener.

But what do they mean by greener? Well, in the past years, the zoo used a great amount of energy and power to put together the event.

They stopped the tradition because as a conservation organization, they didn't want to send mixed signals. Now, with the advancements in technology, they are bringing it back using only a fraction of the energy and staying on track with its message and mission.

Visitors will now be able to see wildlife-themed LED displays and animated light shows while walking through the zoo. The zoo itself is 265 acres and the lights span across 15 acres.

There will be nightly ice carving decorations and Victorian-dressed live carolers. KIds were seen enjoying all of the lights at the zoo Thursday night.
