Men charged in connection with high school football shooting face judge

Several men charged in connection with a deadly shooting at a high school football game in Atlantic County faced a judge Thursday.
Vance Golden, Michael Mack and Tyrell Dorn are all facing weapons charges in connection with the Nov. 21 shooting in Pleasantville at the Pleasantville-Camden game.
The judge ordered that Golden remain in jail until his trial, saying that Golden posed a risk to public safety. The other two defendants had their hearings postponed until Wednesday.
Prosecutors also withdrew their motion to hold a detention hearing for a fourth defendant because he’s being detained for an unrelated case.
Alvin Wyatt, the alleged gunmen, also had his hearing delayed until next week. Wyatt is also facing murder charges for allegedly killing 10-year-old Micah Tennant. The boy died from his injuries on Wednesday. An adult and 15-year-old were also wounded in the shooting.
The high school playoff game was postponed following the shooting. The remaining 17 minutes were played on Wednesday. The players had the opportunity to play the game on a professional field, thanks to efforts by the Philadelphia Eagles.
A moment of silence was observed to mourn Tennant.
Camden won the game and will move on to the next round of playoffs this Friday.
The New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association is asking all teams playing to hold a "unified moment of silence to acknowledge the tragic passing of a young fan and to embrace the courageous spirit we experienced in the wake of this incident."
