Police: Search underway for man who assaulted 3 women in 1 day in the Bronx

Posted: Updated:

Police say a man is wanted for forcible touching and an attempted rape incident in Co-op City and Baychester.

They say all the incidents happened last Thursday within an hour of each other. Police say the suspect approached a 52-year-old woman on Bartow Avenue from behind and grabbed her backside and groin before running away.

About 50 minutes later on Baychester Avenue, police say he attacked a 44-year-old woman who was sitting in her car by opening the passenger side door and grabbing her breast and groin.

Police say moments later, the man committed a similar attack on a 48-year-old woman who was grabbing packages from her parked car. They say the woman yelled, causing the suspect to run off.

None of the women reported any injuries.

The suspect is described as having short, dark hair with a full beard and was last seen wearing a green jacket, black jeans and black boots.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
