NYPD releases image of man wanted for armed robbery inside Allerton apartment building

ALLERTON -

The NYPD has released photos of a man wanted in connection to a robbery that happened inside an apartment complex in Allerton.

Police say the suspect took over $2,000 after walking into the apartment building on Pelham Parkway and Bronxwood Avenue two weeks ago.

The 39-year-old victim told police he was stepping out of the elevator onto his floor just before 11 p.m. when he was ambushed by a man with a gun.

According to authorities, the victim cooperated with the suspect as he took the resident’s jewelry, cellphone and $2,200 before taking off.

The victim was not injured, officials are warning residents to keep a lookout.

Police offering up to a $2,500 reward for tips that lead to an arrest and conviction.

Anyone with information is asked to call police.
