Parent accused of assaulting school bus driver with children onboard

Police have made an arrest after they say a bus driver was assaulted by a parent in Allerton, while he was working.

Police say the incident happened around 6:50 a.m. yesterday on Paulding Avenue and East 222nd Street. They say children were on the bus at the time of the attack.

Witnesses tell News 12 a parent of one of the students on the bus, Angel Valentine, punched the 43-year-old bus driver in the head and struck him with a glass window pane.

Valentine was arrested at the scene of the incident and is now facing assault and harassment charges.
