Dozens of families get free laundry service at Williamsbridge laundromat

Posted: Updated:

A nonprofit is giving back to the community with free laundry service this holiday season.

The Laundry Project gave away two hours of free laundry service where families could get hundreds of loads washed and dried without spending a quarter.

The event was also made possible with support from the New York City Football Club. Goalie Brad Stuver and his wife, Ashley, met with fans at the event.

They say it's important to give back to the community in the Bronx, since the team plays at Yankee Stadium.

Nearly 60 families walked away with loads of clean laundry.

Stuver says he hopes to do the event twice as many times next year to help even more families with their laundry.
