Firefighter killed in apparent road rage attack honored with street naming

A firefighter who was killed in an apparent road rage attack was honored with a street naming.
It's been just over a year since firefighter Faizal Coto was killed along the Belt Parkway.
On Wednesday, the city and fire department honored him in a way that would cement his legacy in time. West 8th Street just off Surf Avenue will now be known as Faizal Coto Way.
His firehouse was packed to capacity for an emotional plaque dedication. Loved ones shared stories about Coto's unique and magnetic personality. Coto was a firefighter who moonlighted as a rapper, saved lives and brightened them as well.
Coto had only been a firefighter for three years. He had a short-lived career, but speakers at the ceremony said that he left a lasting impact.
