Councilman Rodriguez enters crowded field for Rep. Serrano’s seat

Councilman Ydanis Rodriguez says he believes his story and message are strong enough to compete in the crowded field for retiring Rep. Jose Serrano’s seat in the 15th District.
“I’m ready to be the voice of the 15th Congressional District,” says Rodriguez. “I lived with [a] green card from [19]83 to 2000 – so not only do I have compassion for immigrants, but I’ve been that immigrant.”
Rodriguez is joining an already crowded field of 11 Democrats fighting for the nomination this spring.
So far, just one Republican has announced his candidacy.
