Schuylerville residents demand safety improvements at intersection

Schuylerville residents are demanding safety improvements at what they deemed as a problematic intersection after a collision was caught on camera.
Video shows one driver appearing to drive through a stop sign on Edison Avenue, crashing into another vehicle coming down Coddington Avenue.
Isaac Maldonaldo, who didn't have a stop sign on his side of the road, says he didn't see the driver who ran through the stop sign until it was too late.
Maldonaldo says he had his young son in the backseat of his car. No injuries were reported.
Both vehicles suffered from extensive damage. Maldonaldo says people run through stop signs in the neighborhood all the time.
According to the Department of Transportation's Vision Zero statistics, three injuries have been reported at this intersection since Oct. 31.
Maldonaldo is proposing speed bumps, hoping drivers start to slow down and obey the rules of the road.
News 12 reached out to the DOT and is waiting to hear back.
