They may not have won the World Series this year, but the Yankees are winning the hearts of families in need this holiday season.
The team, along with the Bronx Clergy, handed out food that was collected. This is the 26th year that the Yankees have continued the tradition.
Those involved say it feels good to make a positive difference during the holidays.
"I just think it's a good cause. It's a good opportunity to do good in the world. It's nice of the Yankees to facilitate all this and make it possible, and just trying to be a part of that," said Yankees relief pitcher Adam Ottavino.
Fans that brought at least 30 pounds of nonperishable food received vouchers that are good for two tickets to select Yankee games this upcoming season.
