Police: Man caught on camera trying to destroy cameras during Fordham basement burglary

Police are searching for a man caught on camera messing with security cameras before a basement was burglarized.

Cameras captured the man walking in and minutes later, police say he starts grabbing things on Sept. 25 around 10 p.m.

The video also shows the man trying to stop the cameras from capturing his face by hitting it with what appears to be a piece of a bed frame.

Police tell News 12 he got away with more than $800 worth of drills and equipment. 

News 12 is told it happened at a building located along Morris Avenue and 183rd Street.  

No one was injured.

Anyone with information is asked to call police.
