Police are asking for the public's help finding a group of young men who they say attacked two Hasidic Jews.

They say the two incidents happened about 30 minutes apart and less than a quarter of a mile away from each other in Crown Heights.

Surveillance video released by the NYPD shows a group of people hitting a 23-year-old Hasidic Jewish man with a chair.

It happened on Dec. 24 just before 6 p.m. at the corner of Albany Avenue and Lincoln Place.

Police say the victim was scared to file a report because he is worried with the new bail reform laws, the suspects will be back out on the streets immediately and have his name and address.

But police say they believe the same group of men are responsible for a second attack that happened 30 minutes before on Union Street between Albany and Kingston avenues.

Officials say a group of men came up behind a 56-year-old Hasidic Jewish man and one of them punched him in the back of the head, knocking him to the ground. Police say one of the men recorded the attack on his phone.

Both men are expected to be OK. Anyone with information is asked to contact police.
