It’s day three of 2020, have you made moves on some of your resolutions already?
Many people are facing their resolutions head on at Dolphin Fitness on Eastchester Road.
Jessey Okeagu ended 2019 by getting back in the gym after falling off the wagon for a little while. He says he is continuing the grind into 2020.

“Now I’m trying to step it up from last year, everything up, level up,” says Okeagu.

He says his friends helped get him back in the game at Dolphin Fitness, keeping him accountable.

“We make it like a competition, if you ask around everyone hears us screaming in here ‘ah, I can do more than you’ for this or that, so that motivates you in a different way too,” says Okeagu.

According to U.S. News and World Report, 80% of new year's resolutions fail by the second week of February.

Okeagu's advice for workout newbies or those trying to get back into fitness is to get a gym partner or team like he has and to start slow.

Employees at Dolphin Fitness say they had a packed New Year’s Day, but expect new clients to stream in signing up all throughout this first week of January.

“Yeah people are still recovering from the new year so this is definitely the prime week for people to set their intentions for the new year and build a foundation for a better life,” says Okeagu.
