NYPD: Duo attacks man outside Morris Heights deli, steals cellphone, cash

Posted: Updated:

A pair is wanted for assaulting and robbing a man in Morris Heights on Dec. 28.

Police say the 53-year-old victim was by the ATM inside a deli along Andrews Avenue just before 3 a.m. when he engaged in a conversation with a man wearing a red jacket.

Police say the two men then began to argue and as they walked out of the store another man was waiting. The victim says the pair then beat him and took his cellphone, credit cards, necklace and more than $100.

News 12 is told a bystander tried to help the man before the suspects took off.

Surveillance video captured the two suspects entering a Kennedy Fried Chicken next to the deli.

Anyone with information is asked to call police.
