A gunman is still on the loose after police say an argument between two NYCHA employees turned violent at the Fort Independence Houses.
Police responded to a shooting of the third floor of the housing complex along Bailey Avenue Monday.
News 12 is told the 43-year-old victim was writing up a 46-year-old employee around 2:15 p.m. and that’s when gunfire broke out.
The one who pulled the trigger is said to be the employee. Detectives say the supervisor was shot multiple times in the stomach and leg and was rushed to St. Barnabas Hospital. He is expected to recover.
A head of the tenant association said Monday that there was trouble between both men for quite some time and claims the suspected shooter has been written up many times before and even reported to NYCHA officials multiple times.
NYCHA has yet to make a statement on this situation.
Police have not released the name of the suspect who is believed to have fled in a gray Chevy Tahoe.
