Mother: PS 352x teachers didn't alert me about son's attack

A Bronx student says he was attacked in class Tuesday, and his mother says she was never notified by his teacher.
The boy's mother says he was attacked while under the watch of two staff members at PS 352X. She says her son has special needs.
"I couldn't hold back my tears, my knees almost buckled seeing my son like that off the bus," says Loletia Medina.
Medina sent News 12 a photo of what she says he looked like on that day. She says he had a swollen eye, a bite mark and his scalp exposed from someone pulling his hair.
Medina says she received a call from a nurse after school saying her son suffered a small injury, and was given an ice pack.
In a statement, the Department of Education said, "The health and safety of our students come first, and the school contacted the family and is providing them with ongoing support. We will investigate this further and take any necessary follow up action."
Medina says she is now considering legal action.
A report shown to News 12 says the boy had a visible injury to his left eye and was seen by a nurse after a fight. The report says his mother was contacted, but she says they never told her extent of the injuries, the damage to his scalp and what actually led up to the attack.
An update to the report says the school was told by the student's mother that the boy was taken to the doctor.
