A Roman Catholic Church in the Bronx will be collecting donations over the course of two weeks of Mass to support earthquake-rocked Puerto Rico.
Cardinal Timothy Dolan, the Archbishop of New York, has asked priests in the archdiocese to help in his efforts to raise money for the U.S. territory. St. Benedict's Roman Catholic Church will be collecting donations both this week and next week.
A box has been placed in the center isle, and members of the parish will be able to donate cash and envelopes during Mass.
The archdiocese has already sent $80,000 for relief funds.
Dolan says due to New York's strong connection and ties to Puerto Rico, it's important to support it.
