Posted: Updated:

Flames tore through the top of an apartment building in Mount Hope Wednesday morning.

More than 100 firefighters responded to the fire at the corner of Morris Avenue and East 179th Street.

Officials say the two-alarm fire broke out around 1:30 a.m. and spread quickly.

Citizen App video shows how the flames spread across the top of the building, leaving the top floor and roof charred with caved in and smashed windows.

The Department of Buildings has issued a vacate order for the entire building. Officials say 11 people have been displaced by the fire.

The FDNY says one firefighter suffered minor injuries, but he is expected to be OK.
