Metropolitan Transportation Authority President Andy Byford announced that planned Express bus changes are on hold Thursday.
News 12 has been following the MTA's Bronx Bus Network redesign closely. The news affects Express bus riders, especially those who use the BXM4 to head into Manhattan.
A lot of changes were proposed in the Bronx Bus Network redesign--eliminating stops to make bus service quicker and more efficient.
According to the MTA, the BXM4 Express line was going to be replaced completely.
In terms of local service in the redesign plan, the MTA believes it has a solid plan after many public hearings and outreach work done this past year.
The next and final public hearing is on Feb. 20. at the Bronx Museum of the Arts from 6-8 p.m. It will be held to talk about local service before the MTA board reviews and votes on the plan for implementation this fall.
