Stony Brook University partners with NASA to roll out new mobile weather truck

NASA helped bring a unique look at Saturday's snowfall on Long Island.

Stony Brook University partnered with NASA to break out a new mobile weather truck. The vehicle has a research trailer with radar.

Researchers hope the cutting-edge technology will help to better understand storms like yesterday's, and to improve future forecasting.

The school has received $1.4 million from NASA for research over the next few winters.
