A 24-count indictment has been unsealed against the Bellport man accused in a fatal drunk driving crash on the William Floyd Parkway.

Police say 40-year-old Jordan Randolph was drunk when he hit and killed 27-year-old Jonathan Flores-Maldonado earlier this month. Randolph was arraigned Thursday on numerous charges including multiple accounts of DWI and aggravated vehicular homicide.

Prosecutors say Randolph's blood alcohol content was .23, which is nearly three times the legal limit.

Prosecutors say prior to the crash Randolph was spotted by an officer sitting in his car facing the wrong way on the northbound side of the William Floyd Parkway. They say Randolph fled the scene and rear-ended Flores-Maldonado's car. According to prosecutors, the black box from Randolph's car shows that he was driving at 135 mph.

As News 12 has reported extensively, prosecutors say Randolph should never have been behind the wheel at the time of the fatal crash. They say Randolph has 12 prior convictions and three of them are for DWI. His license was already suspended, and he was arrested just 11 days prior to the crash for allegedly not having a court-ordered ignition interlock device on his car. Randolph was released without having to post bail under the new bail reform law.

Following Randolph's court appearance Thursday, he was remanded without bail and is due back in court on Feb. 25.
