The My Brother Vinny organization is giving back to a Bronx veteran who was sleeping on the floor for six years.

"It's the best day ever," said veteran Angelo Duran. The organization heard that Duran did not have a place to rest his head in his Belmont home and gifted him a bed, like many veterans before him.

"So since June 2013, this is our 1,000th veteran today," said Founder Paula Miritell.

Volunteers climbed to Duran's apartment on the third floor, unpacked a bed and furniture, and even made the bed.

Those that volunteer say the sweat and tears are worth it.
