Sabrina Franza joined the News 12 team in July 2018. She is so excited to tell stories in the greatest city in the world! Sabrina is both an general assignment and investigative reporter, who, before joining News 12 Brooklyn, has also reported with News 12 The BronxNews 12 Long Island, News 12 Westchester and i24 News. She is a native to neighboring Long Island, though her family first found home in the outer boroughs after immigrating to the United States from Italy.
Prior to working at News 12, Sabrina graduated cum laude from New York University with a dual degree in broadcast journalism and political science. After covering stories at both local and national levels, from Michael Cohen's federal trial to the New York City mayoral race, she became a recipient of the Don R. Mellett Prize for broadcast journalism.
While Sabrina was in school she held eight internships, working with CBS News, Fox News Channel, NY1, and WRNN-TV.
Her curiosity to figure out why the world works the way it does and desire to learn how people leave that world different than how they entered it, made her realize she belonged in the news industry.
When she's not reporting, you can find Sabrina running from the West Side Highway to Prospect Park, trying a new restaurant or catching a movie (or a flight) with her family and friends.
