Officers and chefs team up with local children for ‘NYPD Finest Chef’ competition

Police officers and children came together to compete in the second annual "NYPD Finest Chef" competition in Soundview Wednesday.
The kids and officers teamed up at the Bronx River Houses with the help of some local celebrity chefs, one of which was featured on the hit show "Hell's Kitchen."
"I think being surrounded by negative things every day of our lives, we need some positivity," says Keiyon Ramsey, Captain PSA 8.

The officers say it was about showing the children that they're on the same team.

"This is a great opportunity to do something fun and for them to see us as regular people," says Ramsey.

A few of them said they were learning along with the little chefs. The teams made tacos and in the end one team was declared this year's winner.
Chefs, parents and officers say they're all proud to participate in the event.

"That's a passion that's an inspiration, and it makes me feel proud I can inspire kids and the youth; it's awesome," says chef Andy One.

Organizers say the real winners are anyone who got a taste what the chefs were able to make.
