Police: Man faces multiple charges for stabbing girlfriend in Fordham

Police say they have arrested a man for allegedly stabbing his girlfriend multiple times in Fordham Friday.

They say 27-year-old Hector Delacruz is accused of using a machete to stab his 20-year-old girlfriend in the back and neck.

Police say the couple got into an argument around 9 p.m. at 26-85 Grand Concourse.

The New Jersey native has been charged with attempted murder, multiple counts of assault and criminal possession of a weapon.

The woman was taken to St. Barnabas Hospital in critical condition.

Delacruz is also receiving treatment at a hospital.
