A Bronx girl is on a mission to raise awareness about childhood cancer and she recently got to do just that on national television.

Dancing next to Diddy was a dream come true for Zoey Nieves. News 12 introduced you to the 11-year-old when she appeared in a viral video featuring the rapper's song "Bad Boy For Life."

The track became an unofficial anthem for the Bronx girl and kids across the country who are fighting cancer. Diddy acknowledged their call to action, but it was Ellen DeGeneres who answered them.

"They were trying to catch my friend's Diddy's attention, but they ended up catching mine," said DeGeneres.

Last Thursday, Nieves was one of eight children who were invited on the show to represent the group "Fighting All Monsters" and fulfill their mission to raise awareness about pediatric cancer.

The nonprofit was awarded $25,000, and the kids also got a special surprise.

"I was like, 'Oh my god, this is really happening,'" said Nieves. Diddy danced with the kids on-set and off, and promised to make a new version of their viral video.

"All of us were crying tears, but tears of joy, not the tears we're known and used to," said Nieves.

Only happy tears are in Nieve's future because on the same day she got the call from DeGenere's producers, she also got a call from one of her doctors.

"And they're like, you're clear. And I was jumping up for joy and thinking, 'This is amazing,'" said Nieves.

Nieves has been cancer-free for more than six months now and hopes her journey inspires other children still fighting to realize they aren't going anywhere.
