Covenant House gets $50K donation to help the homeless

A local organization is now able to do more to help homeless kids, thanks to a charitable donation.
The Covenant House was granted $50,000 from Bank of America after one of its employees, Alex Perry, nominated the organization as part of the bank's "What would you like the power to do?" campaign.
Perry says he wanted to help after participating in one of the organization's sleep outs.
"I spent a night on the street in solidarity for children facing homelessness, and I was determined to make a difference," said Perry.
New York state president of Bank Of America, Jeff Barker, says 200,000 employees were asked how they would like to make a difference.
The Covenant House says 80% of children in its program are able to secure stable housing. The program expanded to the Bronx in 2019.
