Doctors Jemina Louise and Chelsea Fosse are two dentists at NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi striving to change the narrative on how most people view their profession.

Both say they enrolled in the American Dental Association's Institute for Diversity and Leadership. According to the American Dental Education Association, dental schools now have classes where just over 50% of students are women.

However, both Louise and Fosse say they still see a lack of diversity. They say this pushed them to be better doctors.

They are also raising awareness about the pay gaps between men and women in dentistry, which could range from 20 to 37%.

They say they always put their best tooth forward and want to show everyone who sits in their chair what women in dentistry can do.
