Coronavirus hot spots in the Bronx taking precautions due to coronavirus

As mounting concerns continue to spread over the coronavirus, some organizations around the country are canceling public events and other overcrowded venues.
A group of teachers say taking a break from the classroom amid the growing concerns from the coronavirus is just what they needed. News 12 caught up with the group during their visit to the New York Botanical Garden for this season's orchid show.

They say they anticipated less crowds than normal because of the virus.
The Botanical Garden says it's not making any changes to its public exhibitions or operations at this time. They released a statement saying, "We have enhanced and increased the frequency of sanitation measures and procedures and posted signs advising of safe practices throughout our facilities."
Meanwhile, at the Bronx Zoo, it's business as usual. The zoo tells News 12 it is monitoring the situation and is taking appropriate measures to protect staff and guests saying,"Operations have not been affected at our four zoos or aquarium, and no WCS events have been cancelled. We have contingency plans in place that will allow us to respond to changing conditions as they develop."

Bronx residents tell News 12 they are practicing safety measures when visiting places where there is a lot of people.
