First Presbyterian Church of Brooklyn to hold services online amid coronavirus outbreakPosted: Updated:
The First Presbyterian Church of Brooklyn says it plans to hold its services online amid the coronavirus outbreak.
In an effort to help prevent the spread of the coronavirus, some churches across the city are streaming their services online. The First Presbyterian Church of Brooklyn plans to use this method for at least two weeks.
While the change is meant to be temporary, the Rev. Adriene Thorne says the church is prepared to make online services long-term if necessary.
"It won't be perfect. It'll be a little glitchy, but the fact that we'll be able to see each other, hear some music, and pray together is going to be such a gift," says Thorne.
The Brooklyn Tabernacle also announced that its services will be online and that it will not have any public meetings until further notice.
Meanwhile, the Brooklyn Diocese announced that it canceled all Mass earlier in the month.
