Officials: COVID-19 cases in NYC surpass 8,000

New York City officials confirmed Saturday evening that the total number of cases of coronavirus in New York City has reached 8,115, with 60 fatalities.

New York City officials confirmed Saturday evening that the total number of cases of coronavirus in New York City has reached 8,115, with 60 fatalities.
Officials say there are 2,254 cases in Queens, 1,868 in Manhattan, 2,484 in Brooklyn, 1,071 in the Bronx, and 437 in Staten Island. At least 1,450 people are hospitalized. Of those individuals, at least 370 are in the ICU.
State-wide, there are now over 10,000 cases of COVID-19. New York state continues to ramp up testing.
According to the governor, New York is doing more tests for COVID-19 than any other state and more tests per capita than China or South Korea.
