Community Board 9, NYPD team up to bring food to veterans, shelters

Now more than ever people are unsure when their next meal will be, but thanks to members of the NYPD, dozens in the Bronx will be receiving food.
A team of NYPD officers and volunteers loaded up vans to deliver boxes of food to dozens of veterans, seniors and families at shelters Wednesday.

The boxes of food are filled with canned food, drinks and snacks.
Community Board 9 and the NYPD joined forces with a program called RAP4BRONX, a relief access initiative that collects donated supplies and personally delivers them to food pantries, senior centers and anyone else in need.

 The NYPD vans were packed with 800 boxes, with 1,600 meals expected to be delivered.
Food deliveries will continue Thursday with a delivery to Commonwealth Veterans Home.
News 12 is told they will continue to help the community until the pandemic is over.
